Founder & Executive Director

Shawndra Merriweather is the Founder and Executive Director of Magdalene's Gate, a Georgia-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting vulnerable youth and preventing exploitation through education, resources, hygiene assistance, and community outreach.

Her work with youth in crisis and human trafficking prevention led her to establish Magdalene's Gate with a long-term vision of creating safe, supportive housing for young people who have nowhere else to turn. Through community partnerships, prevention education, and direct support services, she is committed to helping youth find hope, stability, and a path toward a brighter future.

In addition to leading Magdalene's Gate, Shawndra is a licensed Georgia Real Estate Agent. She pursued her real estate license as part of her commitment to identifying housing opportunities and helping advance the organization's vision of establishing safe residential homes for youth in crisis.

Shawndra believes every young person deserves safety, support, and the opportunity to thrive.
