Our Vision

Magdalene’s Gate will be the leading place of refuge for homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth under the age of 18. Our name will be a known resource to these youth for providing temporary housing and assistance on restoring their lives and obtaining the resources needed to live self sufficient lives.

 

By committing to help this future generation we are: 

 

• Helping to eliminate underage prostitution
• Reducing the risks of underage drinking in their lives
• Reversing the upwards trend of sexually transmitted diseases among teenagers
• Promoting abstinence through responsible sexual education
• Combating poverty in the lives of the youth
• Decreasing their chances of being incarcerated
• Reducing suicide rates among these teenagers
• Minimizing addictions to illegal drugs and other substances
• Reducing their chances of being part of a gang
• Increasing their self esteem by giving them a better self image of their lives
• Encouraging them to become leaders amongst their peers by demonstrating strategic decision making abilities
• Increasing hope and expectation for a better future
• Promote tolerance of diverse cultures
• Decreasing adolescent obesity through various physical programs
